It started with a bike and an open mind.
Tony is from Sun Valley, Idaho, where he grew up backcountry skiing, climbing, rafting, speaking Spanish, and chasing the outdoors every day he could. Adventure is his largest passion — and it took him a long way from home. He's lived in Bolivia, Spain, Peru and Ecuador, and while living in Peru and Ecuador he spent his time mountain biking, discovering the trail systems of the Andes, hanging out with local bike communities, and learning the histories and geographies of each place from the inside.
He graduated in Spanish and International Business from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, is a Wilderness First Responder, is fluent in written and spoken Spanish, has studied Incan history, and has over five years of multi-day guiding experience. Trail by trail, town by town, that became a network of local connections — riders, builders, cooks, and families — held together by a shared passion for the bike and for the communities that make a place worth riding.
Today the idea is simple: use the bike to bring people, culture and ideas together — across seven countries and counting. We call it MTB the World, and we mean every word.
