Build. Ride. Give back.

Every trail we ride was dug by someone's hands. We leave the dirt — and the towns it runs through — better than we found them.

Why this matters

We don't just pass through.

A bike tour can be a closed loop — fly in, shred the good stuff, fly out, leave nothing but tire tracks. That was never the point for us. From day one Two Wheel Epix has used the bike as a force for good: a way to put riders and locals on the same trail, share a meal, swap stories, and pour money straight back into the places that make these rides possible.

The math is simple and we're proud of it. Seventy percent of every trip stays in the communities we ride through — paid to the guides, cooks, drivers, lodge owners and trail crews who actually build the experience. The other thirty keeps the lights on. This isn't a charity bolt-on. It's how the whole thing is built.

Tequio Trails

Built by hand, by the village.

Tequio Trails is a community-driven mountain-bike projects organization, working in partnership with Indigenous communities in the countries we run trips. It builds sustainable trails, donates bikes to local youth, and supports education and skills development through riding.

The name is the point. In Oaxaca, tequio is community labor offered as a civic duty — the town gives time to projects that serve everyone. Schools, roads, water lines… and singletrack. We ride above Ixtepeji for three days of the Oaxaca trip, on a 10,000ft mountain covered in native pine.

You can feel it in the dirt. The lines flow because the people who built them ride them. Loamy cloud-forest descents, hand-cut berms, and tech that rewards a rider who reads the ground. It rides so well because it was never about a deadline — it was about pride.

"Story is a way for the land to speak through people."

Economic impact

Your trip feeds the trail.

Seventy cents on every dollar lands in the hands of the people who make the trip real — local guides who know every line, cooks serving food grown down the road, the families running mountain lodges, and the trail crews keeping the singletrack alive.

When you book a ride, you're not just buying a vacation. You're funding the wages, the dirt work, and the next generation of riders in towns most tour operators only photograph.

Bikes for Ixtepeji

Putting kids on bikes.

The trails of Ixtepeji are a gift from this community — so we give something back to the next generation of riders growing up alongside them. Through our bike-donation program, we get bikes, helmets and parts into the hands of the kids of Ixtepeji, Oaxaca.

It starts a flywheel: kids who ride become teens who dig, who become the trail crews and guides of tomorrow. A donated bike isn't just a toy — it's an invitation into a community that builds its own future on two wheels.

VIMFF 2024 · Award winner

Our story, on the big screen.

The Creation of Tequio Trails — the dirt, the people, and what it means to build trail alongside a community — was an official VIMFF selection and a recipient of the Best of 2024 award at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival. It's the give-back mission in motion, told by the riders and the community who live it.

The film itself isn't hosted here yet. Below is a different one, on the reforestation and kids-bike programs.
